Researchers overseas have found rising temperatures risk ruining the taste of coffee.

A study out of Germany found warmer temps are starting to make coffee beans mature quicker and it’s leaving their flavour more bland.

“Our study concurs with some estimates that up to half of the current specialty coffee growing areas could be significantly altered by climate change with effects on production and local society.”

However, it’s not all bad news, researchers also found that if producers are able to identify and adapt their production processes to counter the effects of climate, there may still be hope for a good brew in years to come.
