Standing while eating and drinking will be permitted across the Territory again when eased coronavirus restrictions come into effect.

From 9am Saturday 20 February, the ACT will move to a new set of COVID-normal restrictions.

The change will allow cinemas and theatres to return to 75% capacity.

While GIO Stadium in Bruce and Manuka Oval will be permitted to operate at 100% capacity.

Chief Minister, Andrew Barr said he is confident with the further easing of rules despite the ongoing threat of the virus escaping hotel quarantine in the ACT and interstate.

“It is likely that these restrictions will remain unchanged for the next few months, subject to the COVID-19 situation remaining stable.”

Large scale events will also be able to seek an exemption to host up to 10,000 people in the ACT.

From Saturday 6 March, use of the Check In CBR app will become mandatory for all businesses and visitors 16 years and over.
