Local Police have caught a driver with an unrestrained five-month-old baby in their car during an operation cracking down on driving offences across the Territory.
The driver is one of more than 530 people caught doing the wrong thing over the Christmas and New Year’s break.
Speedsters took up the most of officer’s time with 178 drivers caught throughout the 12-day operation.
More than 80 people were caught either unregistered on unlicensed while travelling through the Territory.
Police caught 16 people using their phones while driving while four people were found driving without a seatbelt, including the driver caught with the unrestrained child.
More than 8,500 RBT and Random drug tests were carried out on Territory roads over the 12-days.
Of those 33 drink drivers and 25 drug affected drivers were detected.
ACT Policing’s festive traffic operation ran from 23 December 2020 to 3 January 2021.
