A Deakin man who arrived into Canberra from Sydney on Thursday morning has been arrested and charged after police discovered what they believe is cocaine on the man.
The 51-year-old arrived at the Canberra Railway Station in Kingston at about 11:20am when officers identified the man and carried out a search, where they located about 59 grams of a white powder.
Further tests are still be carried out to determine the exact makeup of the substance, but police believe it to be cocaine.
If that is the case, it’s estimated the amount of the drug within the bag, could have a street value of $20,000.
The man was subsequently charged with drag trafficking and will now appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday.
