A Canberra nurse will be among the first group of frontline health workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on Monday.

Maddy Williams will receive her second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, completing her vaccination against the virus.

The administering of the second dose is another milestone in the Territory’s fight against the pandemic.

Last week, the AstraZeneca vaccine began rolling out in the Territory, while it’s expected Phase 1B of the vaccination program could begin before the weeks end.

The next phase will see the administering of jabs to adults over the age of 70, people with specified medical conditions and Indigenous Australian adults.

More than 2,500 Canberrans have now received their first jabs of a coronavirus vaccine.
