Canberra Airport has just announced a new service for local Canberrans with flights beginning to Newcastle. This is very exciting as there will be four return flights each week from the 20th of November. There are currently plans to extend this to 11 return flights each week in 2021.
Canberra Airport now has five new destinations – Ballina/Byron, Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Port Macquarie, Hobart. As well as additional services to Newcastle by Link Airways.
As of today, flights to Sunshine Coast have begun. Alliance Airlines has announced it will commence 2 weekly scheduled services between Canberra and Sunshine Coast and onwards to Cairns. The new double destination service is the first time Alliance Airlines has offered regular passenger services to Canberra, which is great for locals. Fares between Canberra and the Sunshine Coast start from $169 one-way including taxes.
