Canberra will take centre stage when production of Liam Neeson’s new film ‘Blacklight’ arrives in the Capital next week.

Civic will provide the backdrop for a ‘thrilling’ car chase scene in the Hollywood blockbuster.

The movie is currently being filmed in Melbourne with the Nation’s Capital chosen for the crucial scene, with world-leading pre-visualisation technology to transform Canberra into downtown Washington DC.

Directed by Mark Williams (the creator of Ozark), the film will involve up to 60 local crew during the shoot and is expected to provide an economic boost to the city.

A number of temporary traffic changes and road closures will be in place across the city over four days next week.

Information on changes to public transport and access can be found here.

Filming is set to take place between Thursday 14 January – Friday 22 January.
