A man has suffered non-life-threatening injuries during a shooting in Palmerston on Thursday afternoon.
Around 2:15pm, Police received two calls, one of a man being shot on Bendora Crescent, another reported a vehicle being driven erratically around the suburb with people running along streets and jumping fences.
One of them was reportedly carrying a firearm.
On arrival, officers confirmed the man had received injuries consistent with a shooting.
Paramedics transported the man to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are now investigating the incident but believe it was a targeted attacked.
They don’t believe any criminal gangs were involved and insist that there is no threat to the wider community.
Police are now seeking witnesses, CCTV and dash-cam footage from the Palmerston area that captured any suspicious activity on Thursday afternoon.
