A man has died and another remains in hospital following an early morning stabbing in Cooma on Monday.

Emergency services received reports that the two men had been stabbed at about 4am in the morning.

The pair are said to have driven themselves to Cooma Hospital where one man who has suffered stab wounds to his torso died, he’s yet to be formally identified.

The other man, aged 19, was taken to Canberra Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police quickly established a crime scene around the hospital before a 21-year-old man was arrested.

He’s been taken to Cooma Police Station as investigations continue.
