UPDATED: A 19-year-old driver has died following a crash along the Tuggeranong Parkway on Tuesday night.
The man was travelling southbound at about 10:30pm when the collision took place, just north of the Sulwood Drive intersection.
Police say they received reports of an orange Holden Commodore driving dangerously and at ‘excessive speeds’ through a number of Canberra suburbs, with officers unsuccessfully attempting to pull over the car multiple times.
It was then that the driver made their way down the Tuggeranong Parkway, colliding with a street sign and light pole.
The driver died at the scene while three other passengers inside the vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The teenagers death brings the ACT’s road toll to five.
Police are now investigating the incident and appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
