Two people from the Greater Sydney region have been caught breaching public health orders as they attempted to check into a Tuggeranong hotel.

Police were called to the Greenway accommodation venue on Thursday, where both people were ordered to leave the ACT.

It’s the second time in a week Police have asked someone from the Greater Sydney area to leave the ACT after a Sydney woman arrived on a flight from the New South Wales capital last weekend.

It comes after New South Wales Police also fined a 20-year-old woman who’s accused of travelling through the ACT from regional NSW on a day trip to and from Sydney.

Over the past seven days, Police have received 36 reports of non-compliance to the Territory’s current public health orders, all of which were determined to be minor breaches and required no further action.

Members of the community are being reminded they can report suspected public health order breaches to the the COVID-19 Helpline on 6207 7244.
