The fridges have been stocked up with choc tops and extra popcorn at the ready as theatres and cinemas across the Nation’s Capital prepare to return to full capacity.

On Wednesday morning, the indoor entertainment venues will be able to sell at 100 per cent seated capacity under the latest easing of the ACT’s coronavirus restrictions.

Limelight Cinemas CEO, Ross Entwhistle said he can’t wait for the eased rules to kick in with the easing of restrictions coming amid one of their busiest periods.

“It’s been a really challenging 12 months for cinemas, we’ve actually got some new movies playing at the moment and the lifting of those restrictions enables us to full implement what we hope will be a great end to the school holidays.”

Mr Entwhistle also said the change locally comes as film production picks up globally.

“We’ve had some limitations to the release over the course of the last 12 months but we’re seeing some major movies back being released on a global level.”

The changes comes into effect from 9am Wednesday 14 April 2021.
