A driver is on the run after evading police during a chase along the Tuggeranong Parkway on Wednesday.
Police say they first spotted the stolen black Jeep with Queensland rego just before 11am in Bruce and managed to follow it onto the Tuggeranong Parkway.
During that time a second patrol car positioned itself at the Cotter Road intersection to pull over the vehicle.
When the Jeep failed to stop, stop sticks were deployed, deflating the car’s front tyre.
The car continued to drive while behind pursued by police when it exited the Parkway onto Hindmarsh Drive before conducting a u-turn and heading north along the southbound lanes of the Parkway.
Police made the decision to call off their chase due to safety concerns for the public.
The car involved was later found abandoned in the suburb of Weston but the offender involved remains yet to be found.
Police are now appealing for witnesses of the incident or anyone who may have footage of the car during its travels on Wednesday morning to come forward.
