Investigations have been launched following a string of car thefts across the Belconnen area over the past month.
Police say on 24 March a man was approached by two men in Macquarie where they assaulted him and threatened him with a knife before fleeing in the man’s car.
The car was later found in a carpark at Aranda.
The following Friday, 26 March, a pizza delivery driver was approached by a group of men in Aranda where he was assaulted before the men fled in the victim’s delivery vehicle.
His car was later found at an underpass in Chifley.
Then on Monday, 12 April, a man was approached by another man in Aranda where he was threatened with a knife before the assailant fled the scene in the victim’s car.
His vehicle was found by police in a Macquarie carpark later on.
The people involved in the attacks are all described as males, between the ages of 20 and 30, about 180cm tall, Caucasian in appearance and wearing dark clothing and dark masks to cover their faces during the incidents.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward by contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
