A Queanbeyan man is among 4 COVID-19 related deaths in New South Wales on Wednesday.
The man in his 60’s passed away earlier in the week after contracting the virus.
He had only received one dose of the vaccine and had ‘significant’ underlying health conditions.
The news comes as COVID-19 case numbers in the ACT spike slightly on Wednesday.
15 new cases were recorded after more than 1,300 tests were processed.
However, in some better news, hospital numbers are down with 5 people with the virus now receiving care, including 2 in ICU.
Across the border, there have been 10 new cases of the virus recorded in the Southern NSW Local Health District, directly surrounding the ACT.
8 are in the Queanbeyan Palerang region with the remaining 2 detected in the Yass Valley LGA.
