One of the world’s busiest men was spotted in Canberra on Thursday morning as final preparations begin in the countdown to Christmas.

Santa Claus and his reindeer payed a visit to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority’s headquarters in Woden to have his sleigh undergo its annual safety inspection, for use next month.

Mr Claus said he always makes sure to visit the Nation’s Capital at least one month before Christmas, to ensure his aircraft is in tip top shape.

“Ho ho ho, it’s important to make sure my sleigh is in working order, so no one on my good list misses out on a special gift.”

Santa’s sleigh was officially signed off on by inspectors on Thursday afternoon.

Having received both jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine and even his boost shot, Santa is now all but cleared to make a return journey to Canberra on December 24.
