With more Canberrans get out and about, following the easing of lockdown restrictions, speed vans are set to return to our suburbs.
Mobile speed vans have been operating throughout the ACT’s lockdown but as of Monday will return to suburb streets.
ACT Transport Minister, Chris Steel said mobile vans will have a particular focus around local schools.
“With more cars on the road and kids going back to school in coming weeks, it’s important for Canberrans to be road safe.”
“Speed limits in school zones are there to protect children by allowing motorists extra time to stop in an unexpected situation.
Free paid parking at ACT Government owned car parks will also come to an end next month.
Enforcement of the Territory’s paid parking spots will recommence from Monday 1 November.
