A 18-year-old man will face court on Monday, charged after allegedly hitting a police officer in the face.
Police say the teenager was involved in a fight in Garema Place in the early hours of Sunday morning.
As they attempted to restrain the man, he managed to free his arms where he began swinging them ‘wildly’ while pushing away from Police.
As this was happening, it’s alleged he struck an officer in the face, puncturing the officer’s lower lip and dislodging a tooth.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with recklessly inflicting actual bodily harm to a police officer, resisting a public official and fighting in a public place.
The 18-year-old is due to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday.
