The Ken Behrens spirit is in high supply as most of us stay home during the ACT’s lockdown.

A dedicated team of essential volunteers have been kept busy, helping support those stuck in quarantine, offering operational support at Canberra’s testing sites and helping ease the transition to remote learning for the Territory’s school children and their families.

Over the past two weeks, more than 150 staff and volunteers at the ACT Emergency Services Agency and members of Volunteering ACT have been involved in the response.

During that time more than 900 essential grocery deliveries have been made.

More than 1,000 laptops have been delivered.

A whopping 980,000 face masks and more than 300 litres of hand sanitiser have also been handed out across the ACT.

With at least another week of lockdown ahead those numbers are expected to increase further.
