A wanted man from Scullin will face court on Wednesday after being charged with assault, holding someone against their will and threatening to kill.
It’s alleged the 35-year-old assaulted a 20-year-old pregnant woman at a Macgregor home in the early hours of Monday 25 January.
The following Sunday, Police received reports that the woman was being held against her will at the home by the man, where he had allegedly assaulted her and threatened to kill her a number of times.
Police visited the house and spoke with a number of people present while helping the woman to a safe location.
A warrant was issued for the mans arrest on Monday 1 February with officers locating the man at a Melba home the following afternoon.
He’s since been charged with 12 offences which Police allege he committed while on bail.
The man will now face the ACT Magistrates Court charged with three counts of reckless threat to kill person, three counts of assault ABH on a pregnant woman, two counts of forcible confinement, and single counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally wound, possess offensive weapon with intent, and minor theft.
Police have opposed bail.
