This Saturday marks 50 years since the first episode of Young Talent Time aired on Australian TV screens back in 1971.
With Johnny Young at the helm, the show ran for more than 800 episodes and was a staple in Aussie households and childhoods with its enduring mix of fun music, dance and costumes.
Now fans of the shows are being given the chance to relive the glory days of the YTT stage, which introduced us to the likes of Tina Arena and Dannii Minogue.
The National Film and Sound Archive has put together a collection of all the best performance throughout the show’s 18-year run.
There’s plenty of big hair, bright clothes and lights to meet you as you take the trip down memory lane.
The collection captures key memories from the show, including first and last performances by team members, live shows, birthday specials, incredible costumes and rare footage.
Among them, an 8-year-old Asher Keddie (Nina Proudman from Offspring) performing the classic hit ‘Fame’ and a Dannii and Kylie duo performing ‘Sisters are doin’ it for Themselves’.
