The Enlighten Festival returns to Canberra tonight, illuminating National Institutions across the Parliamentary Triangle with lights, sounds and stunning visual displays.

Now in it’s 11th year the festival has been reimagined to comply with coronavirus restrictions.

Executive Producer Vicki Cotter said six institutions as well as a string of street displays will be light up each night until March 8.

“We’ve also got two delicious food areas, the Bentspoke beer garden and Enlighten Alley and this year we really need people to register due to the covid-safe plan that we’ve got in place.”

The festival kicks off tonight at 8pm with the official switching on of the illuminations, with one lucky Canberran chose to hit the button.

Ahead of that, we’ve got your first look at what you can expect to see at Enlighten this year.
