Can someone be disqualified from working in the Real Estate business? And if so, what could warrant such a significant outcome?
Turns out this has happened recently in Australia.
A top-selling Sydney agent has copped a massive 10-year ban, following findings by NSW Fair Trading of alleged serious and deliberate misconduct.
It’s after the agent was found to have allegedly engaged in underquoting, advertising properties below their estimated selling price, dummy bidding, falsified documentation and more.
While we know most agents do an excellent job, it’s worth asking, what are the warning signs in a case like this? And what do these behaviours look like?
The team from the MIX106.3 Real Estate Show spoke to Maria Edwards, CEO at the Real Estate Institute of the ACT.
They explored tricky topics like examples of high-pressure sales tactics and underquoting, as well as what dummy bidding and falsified documentation look like.
