Yurts – those portable circular tent-like structures that pop up here and there. They’re actually pretty cool!
Nomadic tribes relied on yurts for thousands of years – built for life on the move. Today, they’ve been modernised and adapted to the harsher landscapes of Australia and New Zealand.

But how exactly do they work, and what are they used for?

Cam & Renee from the MIX106.3 Real Estate Show spoke to a man who lives and breathes yurts – Founder of Yurt in the Dirt, Ryan Smith.
He spoke about the history of yurts, what modern-day ones are like and how easy (or not) it is to have one in your backyard.
