Canberra’s Nick Kyrgios has ensured there’ll be Australian representation in the second round at Stuttgart, beating Jiri Lehecka 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 in 77 minutes.

He’ll now face either Lorenzo Musetti or Nikoloz Basilashvili, who resume on Wednesday.

It comes as fellow Aussie Chris O’Connell gave three-time grand slam winner Andy Murray a scare before bowing out in straight sets.

The Australian qualifier took a shock 3-0 lead in their first round match on Tuesday but the Scot came back to win 6-4 6-3.
