Riding a public e-scooter from Gungahlin all the way to Woden will soon be a reality in Canberra!

The current network is being expanded to link the busy hubs from north to south, after locals expressed their desire for e-scooters to operate and connect with their area.

“The scheme has also been expanded to cover the parliamentary triangle, promoting access to our national institutions and attractions,” Minister for Transport and City Services, Chris Steel, said.

In addition to Woden and Gungahlin, the expansion also includes:

  • Kaleen added to the Belconnen operation
  • Lyneham and North Watson added to the central Canberra area
  • Black Mountain Peninsula
  • more areas of Yarralumla including Weston Park
  • Mitchell business district
  • the suburb of Weston

The scheme has proven quite popular, with more than 2.1 million trips since e-scooters were first trialled in Canberra in 2020.

The expansion kicks off from September 9 this year, with providers Beam and Neuron Mobility hosting ‘come and try’ days in the new spots.
