Liberal Member for Murrumbidgee Giulia Jones will resign from the ACT Legislative Assembly.

Jones announced her decision to step away from Territory politics on Tuesday.

“Due to both family commitments and health reasons, I have made the very difficult decision to resign as member for Murrumbidgee in the ACT Legislative Assembly.”

Earlier this year, Jones stepped back from the role of Deputy Leader within the party also citing family reasons for her decision at the time.

It’s expected a countback of votes cast in the 2020 ACT election will be needed to determine her replacement in the Assembly.
