Lake Burley Griffin will turn into a vibrant canvas of colours each night for Lights on the Lake from 25th to the 28th of January.

The inaugural event will be a stunning display of light and colour projected onto two enormous water screens, accompanied by a visual feast of laser lights and a stirring sound track.

The show will run for 12 minutes, each night, giving all Canberrans a chance to see it.

The event is run by the National Capital Authority, and Chief Operations Officer Hamid Heydarian says the show pays respect to our country’s rich culture and history…

“The fact that we are a multicultural, inclusive society, while also paying respect to the unsung heroes here in Australia who make our community run smoothly”

And just in cased that wasn’t enough….there’s night markets as well!

Think drinks, craft beers, and quality fresh food! There will be something for everyone down at LBG.

The community event is free, so grab a picnic blanket and head on down to Commonwealth Place on Lake Burley Griffin.

The markets begin at 5pm, while the light show will start at sundown.
