Local burger joint Grease Monkey has been named the ‘Best Burger’ in Canberra.

It picked up the crown at the annual Australian Hotels Association (ACT Branch) Hospitality and Tourism Awards at the National Arboretum on Monday night.

This year’s dinner attracted 450 attendees from Canberra’s hospitality and tourism industry.

The rigorous judging process lasted for months, with an expert independent judging panel sifting through over 150 nominations across the various categories.

Capitol Bar and Grill took home the award for Best Steak, while The Dock was named the Best Sporting Entertainment Venue.

Other notable wins included Samuel McCarthy from Walt and Burley as Chef of the Year, Molly for Best Bar, and Agostinis as the Best Family Friendly Venue.
