Oliver, Henry and Charlotte have topped the list for the most common baby names in Canberra this year.
Charlotte claims the crown for the girls for a second year running, while Henry and Oliver have knocked ‘William’ from top spot.
Top Female Baby Names in 2021:

- 2 Matilda
- 3 Grace
- =4 Ivy
- =4 Olivia
- 6 Amelia
- =7 Hazel
- =7 Sophia
- =9 Ella
- =9 Mia
Five new names made an appearance in the list this year including Ella, Mia, Sophia, Hazel and Ivy.
But the big winner for the second year in a row is the name Charlotte, which remains a clear favourite.

This year saw Alexander, James and George fall off the list with Archer moving up swiftly as a new favourite name for Canberrans.
As of December 16, 2021, more than 6,330 babies were born in the Territory, slightly higher than the 6,205 births of last year.
