COVID-19 vaccine appointments for kids aged 5 to 11 opened in the ACT on Monday, with appointments available at ACT Government vaccination clinics from January 10.

Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith said bookings were opening now so the territory will be ready as soon as we receive the children’s vaccine supply next month.

“I know many Canberra parents are very keen to get their children vaccinated so they are better protected from the effects of COVID-19.

If you have decided that vaccination is the best option for your child you can now phone our call centre and make an appointment for your 5 to 11 year old.”

There are around 46 thousand children within that age group across the nation’s capital.

Online bookings are not available, but parents can call the vaccination booking online on 02 5124 7700 between 7am and 7pm, seven days a week.

COVID-19 vaccinations for 5 to 11 year olds will also be available through some GP’s and pharmacists. To find participating GP’s and pharmacists visit covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/booking/
