After a successful run in 2021, the Grinch who stole Christmas is back in Canberra.

The festive hating creature providing the inspiration for the ‘Grinchmas’ display in Calwell, much to the delight of neighbours and visitors.

Located on Oman Place, residents Dean Hudson and Casey Parker have decided to go a little bigger this year, transforming their front yard into the town of Whoville for the second time.

“We’ve done some garden changes but pretty much, this year, it’s more lights, it was good last year but as it grows maybe I can convince Dean to build more characters for me.” Parker said.

Made up of characters, hand painted onto plywood and scattered throughout the town, this year’s display also features a visit from the big man in….green, every Sunday in December.

“What inspired that was a mum on the Canberra noticeboard who’s daughter loved the Grinch and wanted photos with the Grinch.”

“I shared with her the display but then I thought I might actually be able to get him to come.” Parker said.

The Whoville Grinchmas display is located on Oman Place in Calwell.
