Weekend markets at Lake Burley Griffin and Braddon’s Haig Park are set to undergo a festive makeover throughout the month of December.

Running every Saturday, right up until Christmas Eve, the Little Burley Markets will host Santa each week, with a chance to grab your annual holiday picture with the picturesque Lake Burley Griffin as the background.

Christmas tunes will also be pumping as you stroll the more than 60 foodie and makers stalls, the perfect spot to pick up a Chrissie present or two.

While on Sundays, the Haig Park Village Markets will also welcome the big man in red alongside its famous foodie and farmers market stalls.

In addition, Haig Park will also play host to a Christmas drinks garden, showcasing locally sourced and crafted beverages.

Markets Director, Alexandra Webb said the festive experiences on offer at both markets, sure beat the bustle of shopping centres at this time of year.

“We’re creating a December filled festive experience, where people can enjoy the ambience together with friends and family.”
